Name Taken

I should have known that my idea for the title of my blog was too good to be true...

Turns out there's already at least one "Translate This!" blog out there, courtesy of Michael Wahlster. Darn it all! Of course, I'm left with no choice but to take down the name for now until I come up with something more original. Anyone have any good suggestions? (Thanks to Margaret for pointing it out).

Poor communication in business rears its ugly head again. In this case, it's probably my fault - I took on a large job without a clear enough, written description of what I was supposed to be doing. The client is very trusted so I'm not really worried; it's just a matter of clearing up what wasn't done that was supposed to be done.

It's a pain, though, and awkward at times. I need to keep in mind that you can't be too clear about these things right from the start.

We picked the name for our artisan bread bakery--The Little Blue House--because we live in, yeah you guessed it, a little blue house. I guess we could have called it "Under the Mango Tree" or "We keep forgetting to rake up the leaves", but we went with The Little Blue House... And we did no research because it was pretty much a make-believe company. Except that people loved our bread, and now we are looking for (hopefully) a real space where we can build our brick oven and make the dough in a slightly larger scale.

The problem is that there are lots of other "The Little Blue House"s out there--and it's a little late to change the name. You're lucky that you caught your name issue now!

Hi Steve, found your blog via Margaret's ... I had a similar experience with "Translaw" (I'm a legal translator and interpreter). Back in 1998, wehn I first embarked on my freelance career, I was very proud of the name I had "invented", because it did not only cover translation and law, but also contained "slaw" (I'm a Dipl.Slaw.) When I wanted to register my new domain name though, I discovered to my dismay that an American transportation lawyers' Association was called Translaw. A Google search now uncovers even more similar links.
BTW, the blue of your top frame and the word "Untitled" reminded me of "UA" ...

Good luck with your blog,
Jana

Once I get to read your blog and other work more, I will send you a name idea. For now, this is my crappy attempt. 'Missing Preposition'

Not a bad suggestion Logtar...did I miss a preposition somewhere or is it just a random idea?
