Translator Databases

Most of my business so far has come from responses via the Internet, in various forms. I try to register myself at as many databases that I can find as one way to get my name out. I thought it might be useful to others to list some of the ones I've found. I will continue to post them in the future, as well, so if you want to check back, just click the "Translator Database" category index to see all of the posts on this particular topic.

The latest one I've found is Aquarius.net. They have a good profile system where you can provide pretty detailed info, as well as upload your resume in Word or .pdf format.

Some others, in no particular order:
24 Hour Translations
All Star Translators
Foreignword.biz
Foreignword.com
GoTranslators
Term Seek, Inc.
TRALLY.COM
Translator Planet
Traduguide
1stop-language.com
transline.net
ekoke.com

I did the same as you when I started, and the only two that I ever got work and decent visibility from were www.proz.com and www.translatorscafe.com. You should check them out!

Perhaps, you should remove the link for foreignword.biz. Their site has been down for almost 2 months now. They have never replied to any of my support requests. It looks like the site owner does not care about foreignword.biz anymore.

This means that no one can go in and update their profiles on foreignword either.

http://Proz.com is one of the coolest, another vote for that one.

Another one I did not see listed is http://Globalization.com
